Dirty Jobs!
Ok - you'll have to use your imagination on this one. My boys, especially Malacai, loves the show Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel. In case you haven't seen it, this guy travels the country to find dirty jobs. He spends a day doing that job. Anyway, Malacai has watched it with John a couple of times, and has decided it's his new hobby! He now invites the neighbors over for "Dirty Jobs"! We have 3 HUGE "holes to China" back by the kids playset! They wear boots, goggles, gloves and go to town digging! By the end of their 3 hour expedition, they were covered in dirt. Head to toe! John had to strip them down outside and hose off their clothes. Unfortunately, I wasn't home for this blessed event so no pictures were taken. I did get to see the outcome though. It looks like a mudpit. When John brought their socks in they looked like dirt clumps, not socks! They did this on Sunday afternoon. So, yesterday, as I dropped Hudson off at Pre-K, I knelt down to kiss him goodbye and saw a huge chunk of dirt in his little ear! Yuck!!! I'll never forget the time that little Josiah Cagle saw pictures of Malacai riding his tricycle through a mudpit, covered in mud. Josiah crinkled his little nose and said, "Why would he do that?" Malacai loves dirt! I know those of you with sweet little girls are feeling a twinge of jealousy right now. Some of you, your day will come.

Holly it is good to hear from you. It was a great wedding...Rachelle was beautiful and her new husband is very handsome. She also became a stepmom to a boy and a girl. Your kids are totally adorable.--Rachel
That is fun! My Eamon loves dirt too, Aidan (the oldest) seems to be a little less fond of it, but I have a feeling that once he sees how much fun Eamon has in the dirt they will both dive in-I can't keep Eamon away from it! :)
I love that Show! Thanks for posting on my site. It was cool to hear from you.
peace
Tony
Ahhh! We're with you in the dirt-arena...our boys are more often dirty than clean, and they haven't really PLAYED if they haven't gotten dirty.
We just have a "strip off shoes and socks" rule at the front door. What else can you do?
:-)
(Although I had Eej at the doctor today and was shocked to discover how grimy his hands were...how embarrassing!)
Sophie is a clean freak, but Mattie on the other hand could care less about cleanliness. The more dirty the better is her M.O. in life. Everywhere she goes she makes a mess, and if dirt is around, she thinks it is necessary to put it all in her hair like shampoo!? I don't know...don't even ask.
Ha! I remember that. When Josiah was younger he did not understand why any kid would willingly play in the dirt or mud, it was simply beyond him! He has grown out of that, for the most part. He is more of a "typical boy" these days. I only wish he would feel that way about his bedroom and keep it spotless! You're a great Mom Holly, I know why Josiah loves it at your house! :)
