2 months late!

Another promise fulfilled - pictures of Malacai and his team. Along with 1 of his adoring fans - or make that adorable fans! Malacai and John had a blast playing/coaching flag football this year. They both are excited for next years season. Actually, Malacai is begging Dad to play real football with real pads and uniforms. He hesitant to do it if John can't coach him though - we'll see. Our house is still buzzing about football. Lots of weekend games, Monday night, PS2, tosses from the couch and backyard games! I've actually become a fan too. Gracie even likes playing catch with the football. I think she needs to hang out with Sophie and Mattie so that she doesn't thinking "tackling" is the way you play - we need some dress-up!

Hudson's birthday

Hudson turned 5 yesterday! He is such a fun little boy. I often tell him that he is the "sugar that sweetens my day".

This morning during our devotions, I asked the kids to pray that they would be kind, show love, and be slow to anger. When Hudson's turn came, he prayed that he would show love, be kind, and be a good hunter when he grows up! He's never been hunting, and neither has John, but somewhere in his little mind that has taken root. I think he needs some "Matt time".

His requests for his birthday were tools (real tools, no kids stuff), wood to build his own house (with windows) in the back yard, and concrete so he could put his "collections" in it (which are odds and ends he finds on the ground. He brought home a 4" metal pipe from Andy's last night.

I'm looking forward to the next 5 years!

The men of the wedding! From left, Andrea's brother Jason, my hon John, Jim, Andy, Craig (Andy's best friend), and Tom. They all did great with layers on in 106 degree heat. It was a great day and a beautiful wedding. It is so much fun to see Andy married. He has been such a fun Uncle for our kids. They are getting used to not just squeeling Uncle, Payton (Andy's dog - loved just as much as Andy), but now, Aunt Andrea! We look forward to many fun memories being built with them as a couple!

Miss May with her sassy little look! I love this picture. She was such a big girl that day. The wedding was 2 days after her 3rd birthday. She went down the aisle all cute and confident!

Hudson (in more casual attire) sneaking a lick of the cake off of Uncle's fingers! What a great Uncle!

Aren't they handsome! Hudson walked right up to Andy and gave him the rings (fake, of course). The whole time Malacai was saying, "Hudson, give them to Grandma!!!"

As Promised - 4 months later!

Here they are!!! John and I went over to see how beautifully Andrea has decorated their home, and I snagged a few wedding pictures. As you can see, she was a beautiful bride and Andy was a handsome groom. My next venture is to get a few pictures of little baby Berkeley who is absolutely adorable - give me a few months. :)

9 YEARS TODAY!!!!

9 years ago at this time I was getting married! Today, I'm mopping the floor! I just had to stop and enjoy the moment. I can't believe it's been 9 years!!! I'm so thankful that I married a wonderful man. He has been an incredible husband and an amazing father to watch with our 3 beautiful children. I love you John and I will definitely celebrate today - 9 amazing years! What a journey it's been. You are a gift to me in so many ways! It's great to be in love and be loved! If you are married, enjoy your spouse today. Think of the reasons you married them and dwell on the good. Marriage tip (in honor of my anniversary): Never let your spouse leave the house without a kiss - John and I always kiss twice when we say goodbye - just our tradition.

New Arrival!

Little Berkeley Sinclair Potts arrived today! She weighs 5 lbs. 13 oz, and is 19 inches long. Tom said that Lisa did great during delivery. We've heard that she has lots of hair - definitely a Potts! We get to see her this afternoon. I'm so excited to hold a tiny baby - it's been awhile.

Killing Time...

Hi there! It's almost 9:30pm on Saturday and my husband is craving Hummus!!! I think I've tasted hummus once, maybe twice in my life. It's definitely not something that I crave...or even think about for that matter. A craving for me would be sugar, sweets, candy, etc - not hummus! Good thing Jenette lives with us. Those 2 like the same kind of odd foods. Anyway, John is in the kitchen making hummus. I guess that's what I get for marrying a guy who grew up in the family restaurant...late-night mystery recipes! So, I'm killing time because we are going to watch a movie after he's done. I'll tell you the latest news at the Potts homefront. Malacai did awesome in his flag football game today!!! He made his 1st TOUCHDOWN!!! Plus, he made a great catch and 2, count them 2 - 2 point conversions. We were so proud of him. I did take some pictures today and will try to get them developed soon. No digital camera yet.:( We also bought a new front door today. I know, sounds really boring, but I was really excited. Our front door (since we bought the house - 5 years) is warped. Light and cold air come in the sides. Plus, when we got a new hot water heater last fall it got dropped on the threshold and light and cold air came in their too! I also thought spiders would come in too, but John just laughed at me. I hate 'em!!! I don't fear them like Jess, but they freak me out! So, anyway, I'm looking forward to a new door. Yeah! Well, I'm just blabbing about my day as the blender is whirring in the background. We also got a new toilet seat as well...but you don't need to know about that! Ta, ta...I'm off to taste the hummus!

Dirty Jobs!

Ok - you'll have to use your imagination on this one. My boys, especially Malacai, loves the show Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel. In case you haven't seen it, this guy travels the country to find dirty jobs. He spends a day doing that job. Anyway, Malacai has watched it with John a couple of times, and has decided it's his new hobby! He now invites the neighbors over for "Dirty Jobs"! We have 3 HUGE "holes to China" back by the kids playset! They wear boots, goggles, gloves and go to town digging! By the end of their 3 hour expedition, they were covered in dirt. Head to toe! John had to strip them down outside and hose off their clothes. Unfortunately, I wasn't home for this blessed event so no pictures were taken. I did get to see the outcome though. It looks like a mudpit. When John brought their socks in they looked like dirt clumps, not socks! They did this on Sunday afternoon. So, yesterday, as I dropped Hudson off at Pre-K, I knelt down to kiss him goodbye and saw a huge chunk of dirt in his little ear! Yuck!!! I'll never forget the time that little Josiah Cagle saw pictures of Malacai riding his tricycle through a mudpit, covered in mud. Josiah crinkled his little nose and said, "Why would he do that?" Malacai loves dirt! I know those of you with sweet little girls are feeling a twinge of jealousy right now. Some of you, your day will come.

We're winning games!

The tide has turned baby!!! As I walked up to Malacai's football game today I overheard a parent from the other team say, "This isn't the same team we played at the beginning of the season." We are winning games! Yeah! Malacai made a great catch today. Our stats are now 2-3! I have to say there's been some GREAT coaching! The kids are having sooo much fun. I was laughing with 1 of the moms the other night in the pouring rain at the fact that we, as parents, wanted to cancel practice because of the downpour - the boys thought the rain was the highlight! They were soaking wet and having a complete blast! Man, it's fun to be a kid!
